That's what I want to talk about… Getting started now! If I had started this blog when I thought about it, you would have over 800 posts on Starting a Business, Business Branding and Design, Squarespace Web Design, E-commerce, and so much more to peruse, learn from, and find value in… but that didn't happen. Sorry.

I'm a total over-thinker, over-analyzer, over-everything. I suffer from comparing myself to others. I'm a little OCD and a lot perfectionist! Can you relate? Do you want to be friends? Have I scared you away already?

Meet the Dynamic Duo: Mychal & Jenna

We love working with clients, and helping make their dreams come true! Mychal, my handsome other half, he's more of the behind-the-scenes kind of guy. He's amazing at detail, and thinking outside of the box. And he's really good at teaching people what they need to know and explaining it in a way they can understand. Me not so much… oh crap, why am I the one blogging in this situation. Bear with me… I'll try my best!

So anyhoo, we love working with people, but I find it so incredibly difficult to put ourselves out there, to find new clients (I think they call that marketing). I've let it prevent me from even getting started. I feel like everything has to be perfect, like I have to be perfect, the website has to be perfect or else everything is going to fail and no one is going to trust us. But that's a total myth! You know why… because business is messy, it's never perfect. It never starts perfect, 5 years down the road it won't be perfect, and 10 years down the road it won't be perfect. So if I'm waiting for perfection, I'll never get started, and we'll never get to help people with what we do best. So, we're here, and we're getting started!

I wanted to start our blog with this topic because I think there are a lot of people out there who can relate. And if you get anything from this, I hope it's encouragement to get started even if you're not ready! Get started now… you don't want to be in the same exact spot in six months, a year, two years, ten years from now, regretting that you wish you would have started when you first thought about it. Believe me, I know!

Breaking the Barriers to Your Dream Business

So what holds you back? Is it procrastination? Indecisiveness? Fear of Failure? (Side note: Be careful when you google pictures for “fear of failure”… I was confronted by a whole lot of pictures I didn’t want to see, mostly snakes and spiders!!!) Analysis Paralysis? Are you exhausted because your mind can't stop thinking about your new business venture, but you're drained from all the research and decisions you have to make? Are you waiting until you have the perfect plan of how you're going to start, how much you're going to get paid, and where your business is going to be in five years?
